Overview
This week Shaun exposes not one, but two exciting species that are available to boat and shore anglers right in the heart of the city. Shaun is joined by stand-up comedian, Silvi Olen, for some fall fishing in a bay located on the north shore of Lake Ontario. The pair tackle trophy salmon in the first part of the show and feisty pike in the very same bay in the second part of the show.
Having grown up in Inuvik in the Northwest Territories, Silvi is somewhat shocked to see the fantastic fishing opportunities that are available so close to an urban center. Her visions of old tires and submerged cans are very quickly replaced by excitement as she hooks into her first ever salmon.
Shaun demonstrates the use of jointed Rapala crankbaits and spoons for pre- spawn chinook salmon, then spinner-baits and Rapala jerk-baits for northern pike. Both species can be taken in very close proximity of each other in the fall season. If you live near a city located on or near the shores of Lake Ontario, you're not going to want to miss this episode!

Shaun's summary of the shoot: "What a girl Silvi is. It was like fishing with a buddy I've known for years. The lady has a great personality and she's as down to earth as many of my male buddies. On camera and off, Silvi had me cracking up; you just never know what she'll come up with next. We'll be hitting the water again this year for sure! I still haven't forgiven her for catching more pike than me though. This girl took a big chance and moved away from her home in the north to pursue a career in comedy. She is already doing very well and I have no doubt that Silvi will be a big name one day".
Silvi Olen is also a finalist on the CBC "Stand and Deliver" comedy contest, here is the link: http://www.cbc.ca/standanddeliver
