This week Shaun heads up to Burleigh Island Lodge, located on Stoney Lake in Burleigh Falls, Ontario. He is joined for the weekend by retired NHL goalie Greg Millen. As the cool damp fall weather moves in, the pair decide to treat themselves to a comfortable weekend away musky fishing at this beautiful lodge. Burleigh Island Lodge is nestled right next to the scenic Burleigh Falls. This delightful backdrop only adds to the already breathtaking beauty of Stoney Lake. The restaurant and bar facilities at the lodge were a welcomed sight for the boys after a long day on the water.

Shaun and Greg will demonstrate techniques and baits to entice the elusive musky into striking. The boys will expose tactics for using large Rapala Shad Raps and Manta jerk-baits over various structure on the lake. Shaun discovered the Manta gliding jerk-baits last season and has been impressed with their effectiveness ever since.

Fall is generally a good time to hook up with larger fish as they begin to feed heavily prior to winter. Large well-presented baits can be deadly at this time of year. Don't be afraid to slow your presentations down in the fall and be sure to cover areas methodically.

Shaun's summary of the shoot: "This was a great shoot. Spending the day in the boat with Greg Millen is always a day to remember. The guy is hilarious and just never fails to come up with the perfect one-liners. I have to tell you though, despite being a great guy, he is not the most patient angler on the planet! We went quite a few hours at a time without hitting a fish and boy did I hear about it. I was so pleased when he finally hooked a fish. I don't think he would have talked to me again if he didn't hook and land a musky (o:
The weather wasn't pretty either; it just poured rained and sleet on us for hours one day. This made for a cold damp miserable time but I have to give Greg credit, he stuck it out with me like a trooper. I have a feeling we'll be fishing a lot more with Greg this year, but not for musky!
