Overview
On this week's show, Shaun exposes two great carp fishing destinations in Southern Ontario. The episode kicks off in Pickering with two young guests from Toronto. Parissa and Bijan join Shaun on Frenchman's Bay for some early spring carp action. Since the two had never fished for carp before, some very priceless moments were captured. Witnessing a child fight their first large fish is a moment that should not be missed. You'll notice some surprised looks on the kid's faces when they realize just how powerful these fish are.
In the second part of the show, Shaun heads to Hamilton Harbour with professional carp angler Len Perdic and good friend Alan Slocombe. The boys demonstrate both basic set ups and hi-tech European methods for catching mid summer carp.
Shaun explains in great detail how you too can catch and successfully land these worthy adversaries. Carp are often referred to as "garbage fish", frequently dismissed by North American anglers. This is slowly changing and after today's show, you too may want to get out there and take on the elusive carp.

Both Frenchman's Bay and Hamilton Harbour offer abundant carp and almost infinite locations to catch them. Today's show offers tips on seasons, locations, baits, equipment, tackle and techniques.
Shaun's summary of the shoot: "I welcome any opportunity to fish with kids since it's very satisfying to watch them battle anything from bluegills to salmon. I love to teach youngsters at every opportunity I get; after all they are the future. They will be the ones that pass on their wisdom and knowledge to the future generations. We need to take the time educate them correctly now. I find it very sad that so many kids are locking themselves in their rooms playing computer games; it's just not healthy. When we were growing up we played outside for heavens sake and now we are creating a generation of lazy, unhealthy kids. This needs to be addressed and changes must be made. We need to get parents more active with their children, take a kid fishing or at least get them outside in the fresh air doing something. Parissa and Bijan were great and we had a lot of fun shooting this show. The real beauty of our day on the water together is that they still talk about it today".
